SYLLABUS SUMMARY

Transformational Yoga®


Transformational Yoga®️ was created by Swami Vidyanand, inspired by The Mother & Sri Aurobindo. Then there have been over one thousand teachers trained in this system and several thousand practitioners worldwide. In depth focus of asanas, the chakras, mantras, and breathing and meditation techniques gives you the knowledge you need to purify your body, stabilise your emotions, focus your mind, and increase your spiritual well-being. Transformational Yoga goes far beyond just physical exercise. While offering a complete approach to well-being, Transformational Yoga takes into account physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects of health. It functions on a deeper level to stimulate kundalini energy to move up through the chakras, purifying and awakening the pure body. Transformational Yoga gives you the tools you need in order to make a difference in your everyday life. Transformational Yoga is a truly integral yoga system. It synthesises techniques a variety of yogic systems to bring about rapid transformation.




Asana


Our asana sequences are are suitable for everyone from beginners to advanced and offer a holistic approach to health, while focusing on chakra activation, back strengthening, ab strengthening and a standing series.




Mantra


The science of sound vibrations will be explored during the teacher training. Chanting Mantras generates vibrations which are fundamental tools leads to improved concentration and a calm focused mind. Simple Sanskrit Mantras will be translated and clearly explained. So, by the need of the course, you’ll walk away with an introduction to another language as well!




Theory & Philosophy


Introduction to the different philosophies and understandings of meditation, Yogic anatomy and psychology. Gain a real understanding of Meditation from a real Master. De-bunk the myths and common misconceptions around the practice of Yoga.

  • The Apara and Para dimensions of the consciousness and relationship between them.
  • The layers of human existence: relationship between the yogic bodies and chakras.
  • Practical understanding of the chakras and their relationship to the yogic practice.
  • All difficulties in life come from the impurities stuck around all layers.
  • Techniques of purification applied to each dimension of existence.
  • Activation of the eternal mental fire for multidimensional progress.
  • The mechanisms of life energy flow within the bodies.
  • Study of the science of prana circulation in the yogic bodies.
  • Invocation of the Divine light through chanting.
  • Introduction to TIME Meditation through still and dynamic meditation.
  • Study of the ancient philosophies at the origin of modern practices of Yoga.
  • Mantras for relaxation of the chakras.




Chakras & Kundalini


Demystify these often misunderstood or over exaggerated concepts and experience and gain a practical and simple understanding of Chakras in everyday life.




Pranayama


Discover the healing potential of your breath. Breathing techniques are an essential component of hatha yoga. Benefits include improved concentration, more energy, deeper sleep, and reduced stress levels. Not only does it feed the brain, but revitalises the body, since breath is the bridge between the body and the mind.




Teaching Methodology (only on Teacher Training Module)


Learn to teach small and large groups. Effective teaching practices and communication skills that will equip you to become a confident and articulate Teacher. You will be taught various practices, packages and sets, enabling you to have a wide range of pre-prepped classes that enable you to teach freely and confidently.




Meditation


Meditation, Yoga Nidra, and other relaxation techniques are included in Transformational Yoga practice in order for us to experience our pure natures, in which our egos dissolve and we find inner silence.

Utkarsh - Yoga & Meditation Master, Lecturer at Unitec, Artist, Graphic Designer, Musician and Poet, is a direct disciple of Swami Vidyanand and has a wide range of expertise in the subject. He was the first to bring Transformational Yoga®  to New Zealand. He has been living here since and has influenced and guided several Kiwi and international students and teachers since.

Having taught people from across the globe and worked with Corporates, Armed Forces, Schools, Celebrities and trained several Yoga & Meditation Teachers across the world. His simple and practical way of explaining and relating the practices in a modern and contemporary context will enable and empower you to make a genuine difference in your state of mind and expand your consciousness.

Disha is a beautiful soul, whose deep spirituality, loving nature and joyfulness is contagious. A School Teacher in Auckland, Disha has studied Transformational as well as Traditional Yoga. She has a background in corporate advertising and is now immersed in education and working for the Divine cause. She believes that all human beings need to connect within to be truly happy. Disha enjoys sharing this special practise, with this intention of service to others in mind.
